Please direct any updates or news to be added to... contactus@eadsgroup.com NOVEMBER DINNER MEETING US 228 BALLS BEND PROJECT ASHE Members and Friends - We are pleased to announce a joint dinner meeting with ASHE Clearfield and ASHE Altoona sections. The presentation will highlight US 228 Balls Bend Project. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) District 10-0 has completed construction of the The project was considered a capacity and safety improvement project on SR 228 (Mars-Crider Road) in Middlesex Township, Butler County. The project site is located approximately 6 miles east of the I-79 and SR 228 interchange in Cranberry Township. The project extends 1.6 miles from approximately 1 mile east of Mars Areas High School (western terminus) to the intersection of PA Route 8 (eastern terminus). The project widened existing SR 228 from two lanes in each direction to four lanes with a 16’ median for addition of turn lanes, providing much needed capacity along this section of the corridor. The design straightened the existing series of deficient curves between the eastern end of SR 228 Three Degree Road Project and Route 8, improving the overall safety of the roadway.
